Long Sword Training

November 2006 was started with something new for all 4th Dan Black Belts to build both knowledge and enthusiasm with yet another point of growth for IMA students.

On November, 2006 Grand Master Yi introduced a traditional sword clinic for all IMA Masters and 4th Degree Black Belts. This innovation of the long sword forms from Korea is being offered to our Masters and 4th Degree Black Belts to give each senior Black Belt yet another tool and skill to enhance students to strive towards Master in Tang Soo Do and build skills that will make IMA students an even better instructor with knowledge and skills that follow the tradition of excellence within the I.M.A. organization.

Master Yi’s Tournament

Grand Master Yi's Garden State Tournament held the end of March of this year was again a great success with competitors coming from the tri-state area and Maryland as well as the martial arts team from the Navel Academy. Grand Master Yi again would like to thank all of the instructors and students that attended and made the tournament such a great success this year.

News From IMA Europe

2006 was a very successful year for all members of European IMA. One of the highlights being attending the world championships and the individual and team success that ensued. Another highlight was the promotion of three new masters making a total of seven masters residing and teaching in the European branch of the IMA.

30th Anniversary Celebrations

2007 is a very special year for IMA Europe. Master Nar chief instructor will be celebrating his 30th year in Tang Soo Do. To celebrate this milestone two major events have been planned. First event was a national seminar and masters demo on 28th April and was followed by a disco party and a Demo by Master Nar himself. Second big celebration event was the 2nd European championships which was held on 16th June. Members are particularly looking forward to this as Kwan Chang Nim will be in attendance.

The Tournament was again great success for IMA Europe and Master Nar. This year there were two new additions to the tournament a Master's Forms and Fighting events. It just made the tournament that much better for all in attendance, for it gave the students a chance to see Masters compete.

Also The 2010 IMA Tournament will be held in Ireland so watch for information and dates.
